can anyone tell me how to rip a disk so that i may be left with a disk image. i know how to copy disks with my newish macbook, but i can not figure out how to copy a disk to an image file.
Find the disk you want to copy in Disk Utility, then look for the mounted part of that disk. It will be a subdivision from the root, the disk. Then, click "New Image". Select where to save, and let it work.
