Help! Trying to burn images to a DVD, I got Error Code: 0x8002006E. I found out that my disk needs to be repaired. I am supposed to start-up with another disk (ie: MAC OS X installation disk) and then use Disc Utility to repair the disk. But, I am traveling and don't have the installation disk with me. Can anyone advise??? Tim

Start up in "Single User Mode" power on while pressing the "Cmd + S" keys.

at the command prompt type

/sbin/fsck -fy (note the space between the k and the -)

if repairs were needed then repeat the command until it show NO repairs were needed.

Dear jbarley, It worked! Simple as pie. I Started up as you suggested and did the
/sbin/fsck -fy thing a couple of times. It located the problem and fixed it. I am now happily copying to DVD copious files (images, movies, etc.) from my Desktop and cleaning house.
Thank you a thousand times over.
