MacBook (10.5.5) screen displays properly (1280x800) until the icons begin to display on start-up and then it drops to a much lower resolution.
When I switch to any other user the display is OK. When I switch back the resolution stays at 1280x800 until I move the cursor or something and then it drops again.
I had a ViewSonic 37in LCD TV hooked up and had just watched "My Winnipeg." I rebooted and the problem occurred.
I restarted without the TV hooked up. The display preferences make no difference. I have shut down and restarted in safe mode. Restarted and zapped the p-ram. Everything short of reinstalling from TimeMachine.
Any suggestions?
Dave
