DIY G5 xserve

I have found somewhere where I can get a G5 xserve motherboard, CPU and powersupply. Would it be possible to use these components along with off the shelf components to build my own G5 xserve?

I'd need at least the following:
- RAM
- HDD
- Optical drive (can this be just a regular IDE drive?)
- PCI graphics card
- Sound card (pci or USB)
- a case
- Misc fans, cables, screws, etc.
- keyboard, monitor and mouse

What else is required to make this thing work? Basically are there any other proprietry apple components that I can't buy off the shelf? What would I use for a power button to turn the thing on, for instance. I can't seem to find any technical documentation about the details of how an xserve is put together.

I'm not interested in it particulary because it's an xserve, but that's what I've been offered and it's much faster than my current quicksilver 733.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
