Does RAM brand matter?

I am under the impression that it does not matter. I am just wondering because the prices vary a lot. I checked out www.ramseeker.com and I can get 2 256 mb chips for my G3 Tower for like $70 from one place....but club mac catalog it would cost well over $100

It usually doesn't matter. Mac stores generally charge more for RAM, too

Brand does not usually matter much, but I recommend avoiding the really cheap stuff. I always buy from www.mushkin.com. Very reliable memory, and good service as well.

It only matters if you are going to buy the really cheap junky RAM. Just stay away from that and you shouldn't have any problems.

Also, try and get CAS 2-2-2 because it's faster than CAS 3-3-3
