i just looked in ~/Library/Addresses and it looks like the current address book uses a proprietary file format for storing all of the information.
I know that the address book is supposed to be completely rewritten and much more useful in Jaguar, and I'm wondering if they are storing the addresses as an XML file.
It would be really handy to throw an xslt stylesheet in my Sites directory so that I could access my addresses when away from the machine....
