downloading software updates

Why does it take so long to download updates to osx? I am usually knocked offline before it finishes.

what type of internet connection do you have? it sounds like a problem with your ISP.

if you mean connection speed, i have a 56k dialup with aol, not very computer savvy

That's a connection problem. I'm on DSL and I don't need much time.
