drivers for epson 636u scanner. for X?

when will epson create a driver for this scanner that will work on X?

im getting tired of booting in 9 to scan.

ive gone to their web site, and they mention some printer driver info, but nothing much about scanners.

seems to me that their dragging their feet on it? How hard can it be for create a X driver?

X has been out for some time now..... epson says they support the mac... sometimes I wonder.

sure, they make products that initially work on macs.... but when its time to upgrade, it takes to long.
