Drop box no show in menu bar or desktop

have a macro work station. lion o.s.-When I click on drop box it acts like it is opening and which it does, because I can open the folders in it. The problem is--it won't show in the menu bar or on the desktop ??????
version 1.1.35. any help ????

BUMPING AROUND ON COMPUTOR, I FOUND THE DROPBOX FOLDER; in my home folder. [not where i was looking for it ] I drug it to my apps folder in the hd, made an alias of it and put it on desktop. I can now access it and it works. just fyi for all.

DropBox installs to your Home Folder by default.
