Dual Boot with SuSE or RedHat and OS X?

Greetings, I was wondering if it is possible to do a dual install with a version of linux, as well as Mac OS X. I am moderately familiar with OS X, but would like to learn Linux, I figure this is the best way.
Thanks

Though I haven't tried it with OS X, I believe it is possible to set up a dual boot system with OS X and Linux. However, you would have to repartition your drive into AT LEAST 3 partitions (you can create more for Linux depending on how you set it up): one for OS X and the rest for Linux (swap and "/", which is everything else). You would probably have to back up everything and then do your partitioning unless there is software that will do non-destructive repartitioning on the Mac.

The distros that are available for the Mac are the following:

I thought so, thanks for the reply. I am currently in the market for an external hard drive (any ideas? recommendations?) and want to get one that I can partition and make that into a dual boot with OS X and Linux.
