hi guys, sorry if this is some where else on the forum (i did search)....
I have a Alu Powerbook 1.25 Ghz 10.4.4, 15inch wide screen (prob an earlier alu pb)
I've not had a problem in the past when burning dvd's but when i come to burn a dvd in idvd 6 i get: The recording device reported the media error: Power calibration area error, (0x73, 0x03)
then when i try to burn a dvd movie in toast 7 i get: the drive reported an error: sense key = medium error, sense code = 0x73, 0x03.
Everything is update to the max, as ive read the firmware might need updating. Also ive tried different makes of dvd-r's, also tried writing on 1x speed.
The drive burns cds ok and plays dvd's fine and stuff and i was able to burn dvd's (any make) not so long ago, i think maybe before the last few updates.
ok just tried using the apple 2x dvd you get with it and i get this error:
The drive reported an error:
sense key = Illegal request
Sense code = 0x30, 0x05
Cannot write medium - incompatible format
(also tried the p-ram and fixing permissions)
Would the system updates make this the pickyest dvd-r drive around??
any help would be great, thank youuuuu
