DVD doesn't appear from slot when ejecting

I burned a DVD in my Intel iMac, but when I try to eject, it starts the process but doesn't allow the disk to pop out. Instead, it reloads. The DVD is still readable but it simply won't leave the slot-loading optical drive.

I have attempted the standard ejecting procedures, all which do the same thing: start ejecting, then reload the DVD.

Any thoughts?

Is it an aluminum Intel iMac or white? Its likely either something obstructing the disk from ejecting, two disks stuck in the drive (seen that a few times), or just a malfunctioning drive. If its an aluminum iMac I'd throw the possibility of a faulty optical cable in as well since the early aluminums I've had to replace several optical cables in those.

Drometheus,

I will give you a five dollar solution which may help.

Go online and order the "Black Nylon Stick". It has a flat end as well as a hook end. When the stick arrives in the mail, GENTLY put the stick into the slot and feel on the top and bottom of the slot for a latch mechanism. This will be the first best option to prying the Mac opened, as i said, do it gently and don't push it in too far. To unlock the mechanism, put the stick in the slot and gently turn your wrist and glide it up and down inside the slot.

Be careful
