DVD drive + external case? Options

Hi,

I would like to connect a DVD burner to a G3 Mac and I was wondering if I can get an external firewire case and put a drive in it. This is a way cheaper option than buying an external drive "prebuilt". I would also like to be able to burn with the software built into OSX. Which drives can I use?

buy a drive from macsales.com. they claim that all their dvd burners work with os x and apple's apps. thants what i'm going to do for my brother.
