Dvd Rom Install

I apologize if this questuion has been asked a billion times but there is so much information within these forums that I didn’t know where to start. To the question.....

Do I need to be concerned when I am looking to install A CD/DVD ROM in my G4 Tower 733mhz? I need to swap out the CD rom drive for DVD so I can upgrade and do some other things with my Mac. If this has been posted before please link me to the answers.

I just wasn’t sure if Apple would have any conflicts reading some CD/DVD rom hardware.

I had not problems sticking in an HP DVD burner that I had in my PC into my G4 tower. It'd probably work, and the worst that could happen is that it wouldn't work. What's the model of the drive?
