dvd writer

Probably about 95% chance it will work with your Mac, 99.99% guaranteed it won't work with iDVD.

Here is a link to a database of products that have been tested for mac compatability, I did a quick search and only came up with one HP drive that tested as compatible. But this was only after running a program called pathburn to modify the drivers needed in 10.3.

How good of a deal is this person giving you? The only reason I ask, is that there are places on the internet selling brand new pioneer a106/106 drives for $115.49, and the newest a107/107 for $165.00. Now these are internal replacements, but if you wanted to use it as an external drive, you could find a firewire case and put them together.

The a106/106 is fully supported (internally) by 10.3, while the a107/107 drive would need the patchburn software to work, at least until Apple updates their drivers.

Thanks, naodx. Will look into. The price is pretty good. And I'll be sure to give it a test run to make sure it works.
Arden, would it work via Toast?
