Emac ram question

I recently bought 256mb of ram for my emac and i noticed that there are 3 ram slots... one had a stick in it when i went to put the 256 in and there is one empty one left. my question is is it possible to pull that stick of ram that was already in there and replace it with a new stick.. so that is it possible to fill all 3 slots with say like 512mb or etc...

The eMac only supports up to 1Gb of ram. Put another 512Mb in and you'll have 896Mb.
