there is a nasty virus/worm going about that infects windows computers. in my experience most virus software isn't the most robust at figuring out who sent the virus-laden email for real. odds are good the virus in question is just packaging itself up as coming from many many email addresses that it found in an infected persons computer. the server then detects the message as coming from you so you get this email.

i wouldn't fret about it unless you were running a windows box. this one will blow over as soon as people remember to stop opening stupid attachments from people they dont know.

That sounds very likely, as I use that particular email address for lots of newsgroups.

Thanks.

I'm being bombarded with errors like that (emails and phone calls too) from people who think I sent them a virus. Yeah, like I'd use Email on a Windows machine :p).
They get annoyed as I try to explain that it's impossible to have come from me. Blah! :p :)

Some start to wonder and ask about my Mac tho. heh :)

Hey I noticed the virus had SCO in it. (For those of you who don't know SCO is a company trying to get the rights to the name Linux, I think) You might want to check this out; it's called myDoom and it sends DoS (Denial of Service) attacks to their website. Probably not the same thing but I thought maybe it would help. By the way myDoom was dicovered yesterday...
