Emptying the trash

When I delete a file or video it goes to trash, but when i try to empty the trash nothing happen and the files could be easily moved to a folder and could be opened again, what to do to empty the trash permanently?

Click on the desktop, then pull down the Finder menu, and select "Secure Empty Trash".
