I started playing this game 3 days ago, and i noticed that some ppl have coloured names, i asked how to do it and they say ^ and then a number from 1 - 9

but i can't typ ^anywhere in the game, not at edit profile, not in console, nowhere...

can anyone help me with this plz.
or if anyone has a script i need to place in my etmain folder plz post it.

Well basically ET is based on Quake 3 if I'm not mistakin'. You can edit in the required characters into the CFG-file of ET (should work). Basically just put the ^+number combination in front of what you want to color.

^0 -> black
^1 -> red
^2 -> green
^3 -> yellow
^4 -> blue
^5 -> cyan
^6 -> magenta
^7 -> white

Example:
^4D^2am^1rod

would return:

Damrod

Yea but the problem is that i can't place a ^ingame...

when i switch me computer to american i can, but when i switch back my name is gone again.
 
That's why I would try to do it via the cfg file :)

I don't remember where it is stored in detail though. If I find the time after work today, I might d/l it and have a look.
 
I tried to do it with a script but they all say to add a line to the autoexec.cfg but i can't find it anywere in my et map.

Ow, and how can you activate cheat codes? cuz i want to get in thirdperson (on my own server) cuz i wanne take a screeny for my friend.

It's a text file, so there should be no problems editing it. You should be able to do the whole name thing there. Can not tell you much further though, as I never really bothered editing my CFG back in the days when I played ET. The declarations for player name etc are quite easy to find, and overall i'ts self exlanary.

Don't know if there are cheats in ET at all. But you might want to google for "Quake 3 cheats", as it's the same engine and usually the cheats are the same then as well
