Enoturage 2004 hanging at start up

Could anyone give me suggestions as how to fix a hanging problem with entourage 2004. The program hangs at start up giving me the colored wheel. The strange thing is that the program works fine when i switch users. i'm running 10.3.9 on a 15in powerbook 512 super drive.
I can't afford to lose any emails, so any suggestions as what to do would be great

I'd suggest you "back up" your messages by using the import function of Mail

I am pretty sure Entourage stores all its email in ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/
You might want to move all the preference files out of your ~/Library/Preferences/ that have to do with Microsoft and try and restart it, also try to clear your cache.
 
thanks everyone for yor help, i fixed the prob by removing the database from the identies folder and re-installing entourage it fixed the prob and all my emails were there as well, phew...
