Entourage AND Thunderbird QUITTING with attachments

i'm not sure if this might be a problem with my email server or with my powerbook.

basically, i was using entourage for a long time and suddenly it starting "unexpectedly" quitting everytime i'd try to open an email with an attachment (not even the attachment, just the email!). so i stopped using entourage and just used my browser interface (mail.url.com), thinking it was a software problem. so i downloaded thunderbird a few days ago, and it is doing the same thing.

could there be a connection between the attachments and something happening when they download from the server? thanks so much for the read, any help is appreciated!

Did you recently upgrade your OS? Think about any other changes made to your system just before you starting having problems.

I am curious that you did not seem to try Mail. At any rate, you should try the usual remedies--repair permissions, run the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks. Since you have the same problem on two separate applications, it would not seem to be application-specific. Still, you may try to replace the Entourage Preferences file.
