I'm on an Imac using OS10.6.6 and airport to access the internet. I use MSW Entourage for my email app. Normally it works fine when I boot up the system and turn airport on, but if the computer is on with no activity for awhile and I go to check email, I can't access email and I get a dialogue box saying:
"Your Mac OS Network Preferences are not configured to allow automatic connections. You can manually dial up first, or you can change this setting: in your modem Preferences, click PPP Options, and then select the Connect automatically check box." But I am online and have no problem accessing web pages etc.
If I select turn airport off and then back on, email works fine with no problems.
I've looked through every preferences setting I can find and don't seem to be able to find anything related to modem preferences. I've been living with this for awhile but lately my tolerance level for these kinds of little PITAs is low so am looking for solutions.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
