Entourage - quick delete?

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if there is a way to instantly delete messages from Entourage without having them go to the trash first. If I hit Shift-delete I still get the confirmation dialogue, "are you sure" which drives me crazy. Can this be disabled somehow so that a delete happens immediately from anywhere?

look under finder preferences / advanced
 
I already have that set but it has no effect in Entourage. In fact, the preferences available in Entourage 2004 or really basic. I can't even set the time I want it to check for mail. It looks like 10 minutes is hard-wired into it. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks
