Epson 1270/Axis 1440/Panther anyone?

Just got Panther/10.3 running solidly on my G4, and find that my Epson 1270 with Axis 1440 ethernet print server is not showing up in the Epson Appletalk category in Printer Utility like it used to in 10.2. I recall this being a large-ish pain last time. Anyone know of a solution for Panther/Axis users?

Hmm - after I posted this I realized I haven't actually tried downloading and installing the current OS X driver for this printer. It's only rated for "10.1.x and later" - I guess I just assumed it wouldn't work with Panther but we shall see tomorrow...
 
I would have assumed that all the Epson drivers were on the Panther install. Of course you would have to check install printer drivers for it to be installed.

Let us know if the new driver works.
 
Huh - I didn't check anything - just did a full install and watched it install a whole horde of Epson, HP, Lexmark and other printer drivers. I'll hunt around on the drive and see if it's there somewhere.

Works! Epson hasn't released a new driver - this is the one built for, I think, 10.1.x - but it works. Available from Epson's site and via link from Apple's OS X drivers page.
