Epson 2200 roll printing problems

I am printing panoramas using my Epson 2200's roll printer, and Photoshop CS4 and Mac OSX 10.5.6, connected to arecent Mac Pro via USB cable.

After printing several different panoramas (13 inches deep and varying between 22 and 44 inches wide, on a roll of Epson premium glossy photo paper) the last two have a pattern that I have not seen before and do not believe is a nozzle problem: blocks of pixels appear in dark grey, overlaying the image. Each block is a long rectangle, oriented along the width of the panorama, and varies in short dimension from about 1/8 to 1/4 inch (image is 214 pixels/inch) and long dimension 1/2 to 2 inches. These vary from being isolated to being in attached groups. In the first print having these they were in the top ~2 inches of the image, in the second they were in the ~3 inches.

If anyone has any idea of whats going on here, I would be keen to find out!

Thanks,
Howard
