Epson: coloured ink out but want to print in black..

I have an Epson printer which has run out of 1 colour (magenta I think). I want to print a basic document (containing just text) from word but it won't let me. Even though my black cartridge is almost full it is saying the ink is out.

I've tried changing print settings from colour to black but no good.

Is there anyway round this as I need to print in the next couple of days and can't buy a new colour cartridge before then?

There is a trick, but you must replace the color cartridge soon.

Go through the steps of replace the cartridge, open the door, wait for the cartridges to move to it's removal place, pull the color cartridge out, then replace it. I mean put the same cartridge back in. The light should stop blinking and you must go to the Print setup and select black only.

Now you must not forget to get a new color ink cartridge.
