Epson Perfection 1660 Photo scanner problem

Whenever I want to use my scanner, I open photoshop 7 and choose import, epson twain. But here is my problem. After I scan an image, epson twain cuts out and I'm back in photoshop, with the newly scanned image ready for any touch-ups. Then if I want to scan another image in, I have to go back to file>import>epson twain. How can I keep the epson twain program open so that I can continuously scan images and let them appear in new windows in photoshop? I know its possible because when I use epson twain in my graphic design class, twain stays open and the images just pile up in new windows.

Try opening Epson Scan prior to Photoshop and see if it will then stay open after importing.

At first it worked by opening Epson Scan and then Photoshop, but when I tried to scan a second image, a dialog box came up saying that "the scanner isn't responding, make sure all cables are plugged-in and if using a SCSI scanner, restart your computer." So do you have any suggestions on what to do now?

No answer for you, but I stopped using Photoshop and EpsonScan/Twain because of problems. I use VueScan and it works perfect all the time.

Do you know of any other programs like Vuescan that are less than $80? I downloaded the trial version and it works great, but the unlimited upgrade price of $80 is a bit high.
