Epson Sharing Issue

I have an Epson Stylus Color 740 shared from a PowerMac G4/933. It shows up on all of my PowerPC Macs just fine, however my new iMac Intel doesn't seem to recognize it. It is recognized when plugged directly into the iMac Intel.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps you could use the gimp print driver (now called guten print). The information is available here:

You would install the driver, then when you add a printer, select add an IP printer. The IP address would be that of the mac that has the printer attached. Where it shows Print Using you would select the gimp print driver. When asked for a manufacturer select Epson and then the 740i as the model.

I have had the same problem with HP printers since 10.4.x came out. The included drivers work only for direct connection, but not always over a network. It would appear that some Epson drivers have the same problem.
