Ok, I just recently bought an Epson Stylus CX4700 scanner / printer / copier to use for Uni, and I have it hooked up to my windows computer, with the printer shared. It took me a while, but I managed to add it as a printer on the mac and things will print to it. The problem is, it wont print what I tell it to print.
Basically, I tried to print a picture, and I got page upon page of code. Tried printing from Word, and got the same thing.
I checked the printer settings and it seems that there is no Gimpprint (sp?) support for it. Most of the other CX models are supported, but the CX4700 is nowhere to be found. I have installed the printer drivers from the cd to both the Mac and PC, which I don't think allows me to do anything, unless I directly connect the printer to the Mac, which I don't want to do because it's my Powerbook and I take it to Uni a lot.
I have checked the net and have found nothing on this problem. Not even a post by someone asking about it. Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I am supposed to be doing an essay, not messing about with my printer :O.
So that's the jist of it. Any ideas / suggestions?
If you need any more info, let me know.
OSX 10.4.5 Tiger
Here's a scan of one of the pages it prints:
