Epson's Scanner Driver is here!

They seem to have some performance issues to deal with, but overall, the Scan to File app is much better than the OS 9 version.

The one annoying (and already documented) problem is that the resource the app gives the scanned file associates it with Quicktime's Pictureviewer, an OS 9 app, meaning if you double click on the scanned image, it will try to launch classic and PictureViewer. Easy enought to avoid, I guess, but I'm curious as to why this wasn't fixed. It's a very simple thing to correct...

Anyway, I'll be happy when these are finally released. This will leave UMAX and Canon as the two major players without OS X scanner drivers...

I still find it humurous that the company who reached market first with OS X drivers was AGFA, who had already discontinued their scanner line.

God... It almost seems like I've been having a really bad nightmare and have just been woken up - slowly realizing it was all just a bad dream....

Now to get Photoshop 7 and I'll get rid of this nightmare for good! :D
