I have been having trouble with my early 2008 13" Macbook freezing all programs, including Finder. During reboots, it stays on the white screen with the Apple logo and whirling circle.
Disk Utility can find no repairs to be made. I did an erase and install and the problem is recurrent.
I came across the following error message: update_fs_block: error reading fs block #429984! (ret5).
Should I just make my way to the Genius Bar now and expect to purchase a new hard disk?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
