Excel Launch Problem

I Cannot launch Microsoft Excel. Notification tells me this is because of a "shared library error" How do I solve this problem?

Try reinstalling Office.

do any of the other M.soft apps work? I had a problem with excel crashing. i disabled the project options for the suite which cured the problem.
