I have a 400 MHz PowerPC G4 that I have been trying to get an external driver (LaCie d2 DVD+RW) to work with. It runs cds and it ran the installations discs prefectly fine, but it will not play dvds. I keep getting a message that says "A valid driver could not be found. [-70012]". I've tried to open the dvd with QuickTime and iTunes to no avail. I've read previous threads about a patch, but I'm not sure how this works and the link to said patch was disabled anyway.
Has anyone ever successfully played a dvd with an external dvd drive on a G4?
