all files on my external hard drive are missing. i was connecting my laptop to my external hard drive. it was taking an unusually long time. once it did finally connect, two external hard drive icons appeared. then everything froze. i restarted my computer, but it wouldn't re start. after three days it finally restarted but nothing is on my hard drive. mac os version 10.4.11
