external HD issue

I have a 40 gig HD that I used to build a pc. I want to use it for an external HD for my iMac, but I do not know if it can be done. It is a standard EIDE/ATX connection. Is there a housing I can buy to do this? Thanks!
 
There are dozens of external hard drive case kits out on the market. You'll just have to decide how much money you are willing to pay for one and what features do you want.

Is it going to be portable? If so, you'll want one that is bus powered.
Are you going to store multimedia on it? Then you might want one with a firewire connection.
Just some things to consider.

I haven't really looked into it, so I don't have any models to recommend. I think you'll be able find the kits at just about any of the major computer part retailers. Or you can a retailer search engine. My personal favorite is http://www.pricewatch.com
