External TO Internal

I have a hard drive originally in a TiBook that died. took it out because i couldnt find parts, but got an enclosure and used it as an external for a few years. now i found a logic board and i need to reformat the disk for boot purposes. how do i go about getting that accomplished? and can i do it while it is an external? Thanks for all your help. Yay mac!

no problem. simply boot from an installation CD or DVD. it'll let you format your drive (everything on the drive will be gone!) and you can install the OS on it - whether it's internal or connected via FireWire.
