i know that you need to partition off some memory to run parallels on macs, but what about bootcamp? i checked the apple website and it only states that you need 10GB of free hard disk space, no mention of memory. also, are there any negative effects of running this in regards to system performance.
thanks in advance, you guys have all been really helpful since i've been on these boards

Unlike Parallels, Boot Camp does not allow you to run both OS X and Windows at the same time. It just lets you shut down OS X and boot into Windows instead. So as far as memory goes, you simply need enough to run Windows, the same as on any PC.

Since, with Boot Camp, Mac OS X and Windows work separately, neither interferes with the performance of the other.
