My Comp is an early 05 Powermac G5 2.0 Ghz DP.
It's recently been shutting down, like someone pulled the plug. The power source fans are not running at all. I purchased the Marcel Bresink Hardware Monitor
program yesterday and ran it. Everything seems fine. However, apparently the fans on the power source are not supported with a sensor that the program can read. I ordered a new power source and it should be here any day. Do you know if the fans are triggered to operate by the power source itself? The tech at the Hardware monitor site stated that the unit is independent of the rest of the fan monitors / sensors. I just got a black screen stating that I need to reboot the OS. (Never seen this one before!)
My error codes are as follows It must be there 70 times in 10 minutes.
"Jeff-Meyerss-Computer-3 kernel[0]: Fan Failure!"
I'm on the Big Island of Hawaii with no Tech support so it looks like I will have to become a Mac Tech like I have had to become a Land Rover tech
to keep my Rover running!!!
Thanks for any help!
