FCP3 and iDVD?

BlingBling 3k12

Somewhere... dunno though
If you make a video in Final Cut Pro, how do you put it on a DVD Disc? iDVD?

just wondering since I got a copy of FCP from my friend's dad who has his own in-house production studio...

Dear All,

If you have Final Cut Pro 3 (FCP3) and you want to put video content on to DVD for playback, you will need either iDVD or DVD Studio Pro. I myself use DVD Studio Pro and it is very easy to use. iDVD 2, which is only available for MacOS X is only available as a 'upgrade' DVD as there is over a Gigabyte worth of themes to play with.

Also to make the DVD's, you will need a DVD-R burner. FCP3 does export the video content straight to MPEG2. More in the manual about this. Apple has a close intregration between FCP3 and DVD Studio Pro, so it should also include iDVD 2.

Another piece of software tjhat might help is Cleaner 5.1.1, which now works on MacOS X! This compresses your DV material to MPEG 2 format so that you can burn on to DVD.

Hope it helps

i have 800 MHz G4 w/Superdrive and all the latest stuff (well, i'll know it when I get it)

i was just wondering if i needed DVD studio pro to burn a FCP edited movie or if I could just use iDVD 2

thanks for your help
