it seems to work but when i try to look at the video with quicktime i cannot see anything.
i tried also to open it with iMovie but nothing.
Any suggestions?

78 duplicate frame(s)!

what does it means?

What codec are you using to convert the movie? If it's Divx, Xvid or some other MPEG4 variant, you probably just need to install the appropriate codec for QuickTime. Namely, Divx 5.2.1. If you're using H.264.....don't. I don't know why, but it seems like 9 out of 10 times I use it with ffmpegX, I get a dead video track which even VLC and MPlayer can't handle.

Or it could be that ffmpegX simply can't read the video from the WMV. But the fact that it's reporting duplicate frames (which is nothing to worry about, btw) suggests it's reading it just fine.

You might also want to encode your video into an mp4 instead of an AVI. That way any QuickTime app should be able to read it without any codecs, as long as you don't use fancy features like B-frames.

ffmpegX doesn't support files in the WMV3 codec, only WMV1 and WMV2 versions (pre MediaPlayer 8).
