File Sharing - I need some big help :)

Barking at the moon.
Okay here's the dealio. I'd like to be able share files with my bro who has a PC. We both have cable internet connections and using AIM works okay, but it can be a bit of a pain since we trade a lot of MP3s and stuff. So, which option would be best for me (us)? File sharing, Web sharing or FTP access?

I think FTP maybe the easiest, but I really don't know much about it. So, here's the next problem. I am on a cable connections using DHCP. Not only that, but I'm behind a router and an Airport Basestation. Is there an easy way for my bro to locate my computer with an IP address or should we just stick to AIM?

Port fowarding is what needs to happen. Since you are behind a router you need to configure the router to route port 21 (if your going with FTP) to your machine IP. You should have your Bro connect to your external IP address which is the IP from your ISP. What type of router do you have? This might be the most important factor of how it is set up for port fowarding. If it is a Linksys then It will be a snap for me to explain how to do it, if it is not a Linksys then somebody else will need to assist you.:D
