File Types

This may seem silly to some of you, but does anyone know how to change a file types description in a finder window? for instance. i create web sites, and i use BBEdit. html files show up as HTML, or HTML Document, (seems to depend on the creator codes, if they have any). CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) files however show up as BBEdit Text File.
appleworks files are really bad, they come up as com.apple.appleworks word processing document or something. is there any way to change the descriptions for files? is there a plist file or anything? also, is there a tool avail. for X to change creator & type codes (preferably with batch features)

thanx

QP.

XRay, Super Get Info, and Get Info (not the Inpsector window built into the Finder) are all good utilities to change type/creator codes. Personally, I like XRay the best, but you can take your pick. I think they are all available at www.versiontracker.com .

About the description thing, though, I dunno. You should send feedback to Apple about it though. http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/
