Filemaker 6 crashes with user dictionary select

Filemaker 6 is crashing on my MacBook Pro when I try to select a user dictionary. I tried deleting preference files. Then I reinstalled Filemaker from the original installlation disk. Same problem. Has anyone else had this experience or found a solution?
 
Filemaker 6 is quite an old version of that software. It's been released 6 years and a few operating systems ago, and the Mac versions of FM6 were for PPC.

It hasn't been certified with 10.5.
The system requirements say
Operating System Requirements:
This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:
Mac OS X 10.3
Mac OS X 10.2
Mac OS X 10.1

The current version of the software is 9.x.
The best solution would be to upgrade to the latest version, the second best would be probably trying to run it with Rosetta...
