Files Associated with Internet Connections

There are many files associated with Internet connections in one way or another. Some are network tools, some provide network services, some support browsing or mail, and still more are used for caching and logging data.

The Internet is an integral part of Mac OS X, and trying to take it out would be like trying to remove all the bolts from a car.

What are you trying to achieve though? Are you trying to set up a new connection, or are you trying to disable Internet for some reason? If you let us know what it is you want to do, we can help you out.

Basically what happened was that I somehow lost connections to my isp's dhcp server. Curious thing is that I use a dhcp connection via a LAN at work and that's fine! I downloaded this program called The Moose's Apprentice and since then I've had this problem. Not saying that this is the culprit, but its interesting. I'm comfortable with UNIX but I'm in no way an UNIX expert. If I knew were to look, or if I could restore the original files, that may help. I'm assuming that a program such as this would backup any files it modified during install. I've email the software company but haven't heard back yet! Any help would be much appreciated!!

Thanks
