FileSyncAgent -account expired

I recently tried the free trial of the Mobile Me functions to see if that would work as described for my work/home file sharing. There were just too many issues, so I deactivated the Mobile Me registration to avoid being charged.

Now I get a FileSyncAgent - Your MobileMe account has expired error message - upwards of 100 times a day. How can I make this stop?
 
I had the same problem ... put up with it for a week and realised that it ain't goin' away.
I called Apple Support (in Australia, they're the best, always willing to help).

> System Preferences
> Mobile Me ( under Internet & Network)
> follow the prompts to 'Sign out'

This should correct the problem, good luck.
