Final cut xpress or final cut??

Hi guys- i would appreciate some advice. I just want to make short films and music videos. I don't want to edit the "titanic".

--so would final cut express be good enough for that? I heard the learning curve is big for final cut and my time is already strapped- i am a composer- AND don't have the time to be the worlds best editor.

I've pretty much mastered the current imovie- but cannot lay down an audio track to edit my music videos very easily to get things in synch...
-i don't want fancy frills - just something i can learn easily on... Would this be a good intermediate step that could work for my music videos and short films until i am ready to graduate to the next step? (if i get that far along- i may be hiring an editor!!!)

Take a look here. You can get a free alternative to Final Cut that will probably have more features. If you try them all and don't like them, try Final Cut.
