Hello all- I am a frequent reader, infrequent poster.
My rig: G5 Quad/2.5gigs/Logic 7.2.3/OS X 10.4.8/Sonnet E4P w/1.2 TB SATA RAID/AJA LHe PCI/Smart-UPS
I am a pro audio guy. I have been using the Apogee Ensemble which is a FireWire audio card.
My problem: Everything ran problem-free until the 1.1.7 EnsembleUpdater, which I installed yesterday. Now, for some reason, I have a "ghost" Firewire device on my firewire bus that is keeping the system from recognizing the Ensemble. I just get a blinking status light. There are no other FW devices installed. This is the kind of thing that can make a user crazy so I thought I'd write. This si whatthe SysProfiler says:
Unknown Device:
Manufacturer: Unknown
Model: Unknown Device
Maximum Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec
Connection Speed: Up to 400 Mb/sec
I'll say again that there is no other FW device attached to my G5!
Does anyone know how this is possible?
Thanks for your help!
