Firewire doesn't work

After transporting my G4 the other day I found that both Firewire ports don't seem to work. It doesn't register my DV camera or my external hard-drive. I've tried re-booting in OS9, but still no joy. The System Profiler says "No FireWire devices found". Any ideas?

I'm running Mac OS X 10.2.6 on a 733MHz PowerPC G4.

Thanks.

Try a programmer's reset. To invoke the programmer's reset:

Shut down computer, hold down programmer's button, and press the power button to start up. If the power light flickers you've done it correctly."

Thanks for the tip. I tried it, but I'm afraid it's made no difference. I opened the case to see if anything was obviously amiss, but nothing.

Try resetting the PMU. It's a small button on the logic Board near the battery. Disconnect the power cord, press the button, only ONCE.

Have you tried upgrading your 10.2.6 to the most up to date 10.2.8? (By most recent, I mean 10.2.8 is the most updated OS X before 10.3.)

I had my firewire ports go out on a G4 Tower and had to get a new pci card with two new ports to get firewire functionality back.
