Recently I expierenced some Firewire problems. I was trying to get a Lacie External FW drive to connect. No Luck. I thought it was just the drive. Then this week, I go to capture some video. My DV deck is not showing up in capture. Or at all. Then I knew something was wrong. This can really bum you out into thinking your firewire ports are burnt up or bad. But they were not. There is a simple fix to this problem, and to many others. Zap the PRAM!
Works beautifully! Here are the Keys:
Option, Apple Key, P,R
Then start the machine up.
Should save you some trouble shooting headache! When anything is acting funny or not working try this.
