Firewire shows up only in one place

My firewire device only shows up on my desktop and not in my "Device" quick view in finder. This is a link to a screenshot of it.

Why isn't it showing up in my devices pane and how can I fix that?

If you dragged it out of devices in the past and got the little 'puff of smoke' graphic it doesn't put it back there when you reconnect it I think. Just drag it to devices and it should stay there.
